Joe Allison is the Director of Bands at Eastern Kentucky.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from East Tennessee State University, a Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Musical Arts in Conducting from the University of South Carolina.  Dr. Allison is the former Director of Bands at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Associate Director of Bands at East Tennessee State University, and Director of Bands at Sumter High School, Greenwood High School and Richmond County Senior High School. He is also an adjudicator, clinician and consultant for concert, marching and jazz events throughout North America, Europe, and Japan.  Joe has many professional affiliations including the Kentucky Music Educators Association, Drum Corps International Judges Guild, Bands of America, Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Fraternity, Phi Beta Mu Honor Fraternity and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Charles T. Menghini (Chief Judge) is Director of Bands and President of VanderCook College of Music. He is an internationally recognized author, clinician, adjudicator, and guest speaker. Menghini has received many awards for his work in music education, including two National Band Association Citations of Excellence, the Bandworld Legion of Honor, MENC’s Lowell Mason Award, and the Chicago Outstanding Music Educator Award.

Wayne Markworth was the director for the Centerville High School in Ohio for 32 years and won the BOA national championship in 1992. He received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Indiana University and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University. Wayne has been a consultant, arranger, and instructor for many bands and drum corps. His articles have appeared in several national music publications. He also performed for four years as principal trumpet with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and studied trumpet with Vincent Cichowicz of the Chicago Symphony. Wayne’s most recent accomplishment is his book on marching methods, The Dynamic Marching Band.

Stanley R. Schoonover is currently a Music Instructional Specialist for the Fairfax County School System. Among other career accomplishments, his bands have performed three times for the President of the United States of America. He is a member of the ASBDA, Phi Beta Mu, MENC, NBA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and remains an active clinician and adjudicator across the United States.

 

In the area of education Mike Rubino's career has spanned from a start-up high school music program to winning a first national marching band competition (Bands of America, 1976); to cultural music exchanges exposing over 800 students to diverse cultures including China, Soviet Union, Japan, Viet Nam, India, Singapore, and Malaysia; to elementary music education for the Morgan Hill Unified School District.  As director of the Live Oak Emerald Regime Band, Morgan Hill, CA (1971-1998), his tenure included two national championships, over 8 years as California State Champion and numerous awards for concert, symphonic and jazz band.

As an adjudicator he is an active judge for DCI (Drum Corps International) and holds the position of Drum Corps International Pacific judges’ coordinator.  He also travels throughout the United States and Japan as an independent judge for marching, jazz and concert band competitions. 

He has designed and implemented an elementary music program that has proven to be highly successful in teaching 4th – 6th grade students the basic elements of music. These components are then combined with original and existing scores and lyrics to strengthen musical knowledge/performance, and grade level history lessons utilizing music (choral) as the medium.  Currently every elementary student in the Morgan Hill Unified School District is exposed to music through his efforts.

Mike believes, “Music possesses the wonderful attributes of challenge, achievement, recognition, and enjoyment; requiring dedication, desire, and ultimate fulfillment.”

 

W. Dale Warren is the Director of Concert Bands, Associate Professor of Music, and the Conductor of the Wind Symphony at the University of Arkansas. He is the former Director of the nationally renowned North Hardin High School Band in Radcliff, Kentucky. Professor Warren is a sought after clinician, conductor, and adjudicator for bands throughout the United States. He also serves as an adjudicator for Drum Corps International, Musicfest Orlando, and Bands of America.

John Howell resides in North Huntington, Pennsylvania where he was born. He is currently employed as a Business Education teacher where he teaches International Business and Multimedia design, and is a visual designer. He is a visual adjudicator for BOA, WGI, and DCI and has had the opportunity to judge both nationally and internationally in Amsterdam, England, and Japan.

Larry Rebillot has been a teacher, a performer and a judge in all aspects of the arts, especially the pageantry arts for over thirty years. He has served as the Bands of America Color Guard Coordinator as well as organizing many successful fall clinics through the Tri-State Circuit for the Pageantry Arts. He has taught, choreographed and consulted with the Bluecoats, the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Bands, the University of Nebraska Cornhusker Marching Band, the Northwest Passage Performing Arts, the Pride of Cincinnati Drum Corps & Winter Guard, and Western Carolina University’s “Pride of the Mountains” Marching Band.

Bret Kuhn graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Northeast Missouri State University where he studied percussion with Dan Petersen. He has been a member of the Disney World All-American Band and the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. He has instructed the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. Bret is the Percussion Coordinator for many high schools and arranger for one of the top marching groups in Japan, Aimachi. Bret is a member of ASCAP and currently serves on the Board of Directors for PAS.

Evan Doyle is currently the band director at Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts where he was a drum major for the “Minutemen” Marching Band under the direction of George N. Parks. In 2007, Evan received his Masters Degree in Music Education from Western Carolina University, where he worked with the Marching Band and served as an assistant conductor for the Wind Ensemble.

David Cook is owner/president of Visual Dynamics, a marching band consulting firm. An experienced and successful designer of competitive marching band shows, Cook brings more than twenty years of musical and marching experience to his customers. In addition to his custom design business, David also designs shows for Marching Show Concepts of Fort Wayne, IN. David began his musical career as a member of the 1979 Bands of America National Champion Sylva-Webster High School Band and continued to perfsorm as a member of the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. After graduating from Western Carolina University with a B.A. in Business, David worked with United Music Enterprises as a business manager, show designer, and instructor. David’s adjudication skills place him in demand throughout the Southeast.
